YES! It has been a full ten years since the start of Dora Reads -
which back then was known as Diary of A Reading Addict, later shortened to DORA, which is how we got to Dora Reads (- and some people insist on calling me Dora even though I'm clearly marked as Cee everywhere *shrugs*)
- and somehow-or-other, through it all, I'm still here.
...It's been a rough ten years.
Still, despite personal problems and global pandemics, here I am, having my regular existential crises and being a hot mess all over the internet.
Still reading, still blogging, still worrying there's not enough bookish content on here for it to 'count' as a book blog.
But then, I've never been one to neatly fit into boxes, have I?
Keeping this weird little blog going for a whole decade (!) hasn't been the easiest of things, dearest nerdlets, but it's been worth it, I think.
I've got awesome blogging friends, and the messages I've gotten over the years from people who've thanked me (me!) for talking about my mental health, and coming to terms with my sexuality, because it's somehow helped them, is amazing.
And while I've never really earned much money from Dora Reads -
and yes, I'd love to be able to write purely for the love of it, but we live in a Capitalist society
- it's what's allowed me to slowly branch out into Medium, where I share more of my original writing (although I end up cross-posting a bunch between there and here, it's the closest I come to having a content strategy 😅) and earn just a little bit of extra cash.
(...which I'm determined to keep building on, because I don't give up easy, dearest nerdlets!)
So, I have no idea what the future brings - but I know this blog is in it.
