'And here Bucky was, living his whole life slightly out of step and just now realising it, because no one had ever told him so.
Slightly out of step.
Different.'
Sometimes, you find fics which were written just for you, ya know?
My dearest nerdlets, a fic with Bucky Barnes (from the MCU/Marvel movies etc.) as a sad Queer boi with synaesthesia and migraines? This thing was written for me - no question.
And that's essentially what this week's fic is - ye olde timey, 1930s, Steve and Bucky.
They laugh, they cry, they come to terms with their unending love for each other.
Bucky is a confused synaesthete who is slowly figuring out that other people don't see sounds, and Steve is a colour-blind artist who mostly works on painting signs for shops and stuff.
...And migraines suck. As always.

It's just... kind of beautiful, y'know?
The dawning realisations that you and the world aren't quite on the same page... been there, done that, and need someone to buy me the T-shirt because inflation means they're expensive 😅
And the way both of them see each other - like, really see each other... argh, it's lovely.
It's simply really, really, lovely.
A couple of mild Content Warnings:
- migraines and chronic pain/health conditions
- disordered eating related to stress/emotional turmoil
- period-typical background Homophobia, including internalised Homophobia
...as always, be careful because I might have forgotten something.
This week's fic, then, is:
Deep Blue, Vibrant Green by profoundalpacakitten
Do you ever come across something that feels like it was written for you?
Do you like it when fics are just... lovely? Lol.
