Friday Fics Fix - Because I Said So

 

'Daniel tips his head back with a sigh. “Okay, so you stole something. What.”

There’s a pause, and then. “I believe it might have been… jewels of some kind.”'

 

Every now and then I like to rec a fic from a show called Stargate: SG-1.

This is a sci-fi TV show that ran from '97 to '07, and which still has fanfic authors writing new material, because fandom love never dies 😅

Anywho, this fic was a lot of fun, and I enjoyed it a whole amount, so today's fic is a SG-1 fic!

...Because this is my blog and I said so, lol.

This is a 5+1 fic which I'm usually a little wary of, but when done right they're pretty awesome.

And this was done right - so we're good! 😁

(Fandom notes:

5+1 is a type of fanfiction which uses the format of detailing 'five different times this thing happened,' followed by a twist/opposite/something unexpected.)

In fact, this is five times Daniel Jackson and Vala Mal Doran got (accidentally,) married - and one time they didn't.

Because who amongst has not gotten accidentally married... 5 times... when exploring alien planets? 😅

I love these two together - and it's the right level of fun vs plot to keep things moving without descending into crack.

It was entertaining, and a lot of fun. With a tiny dash of angst and off-page torture, just because it's fanfiction that I clicked on, let's be honest.

(Fandom notes:

Crack is fanfiction that's so internet-brain that it is, in fact, crack-ed. (Or else could only have resulted from daliances with certain substances - pick the definition you prefer.))

A couple of Content Warnings for this one:

- getting married by accident like, a lot, verging on forced marriage in some cases

- off-page torture

- blood and injury, inc. life-threatening injury

- some medical settings

- references to loss of autonomy

...I think that's everything, but as always, be careful in case I missed something.
