Friday Fics Fix - Almost Like Adults, But With More Insults

 

'“I'm sorry I made you feel like a burden,” Allison admitted.

 

“Wow, two apologies in one day! You're definitely breaking a Hargreeves record.”'

 

We are talking The Umbrella Academy (TUA)!

Because the series has now finished - for better or worse (...a lot of people think the ending falls into the 'worse' category, but moving on...)

And that, of course, means that I need to read a whole bunch of TUA fanfiction to fill the umbrella-shaped (...Klaus-shaped) void. (But not the Void, lol.)

There are SPOILERS in this post for series 4 - mild, probably, but SPOILERS all the same.

Anyway, this picks up after Klaus gets his powers back...

...but then goes all canon divergence, and has Klaus, Allison, and Claire trying to carry on as normal with the unwelcome addition of ghosties.

There's some deep conversations, a fair amount of angst, and more gore than I was honestly expecting.

(Fandom notes:

Canon divergence means following the canon up to a specific point, and then diverting from the source material and taking the story in a different direction.

Canon is the 'official' stuff in the book/film/TV series/whatever.)

Basically, this fic is giving us some emotional pay-off after Klaus and Allison's fight, where they actually talk about their feelings.

Almost like adults, but with more insults because they're brother and sister. 

And a lot of awkwardness because they're Hargreeveseses and are therefore allergic to feelings. 😅
