Yes, this is The Umbrella Academy (TUA) again.
Because I'm complete trash and refuse to feel guilty about that 😅
And you know I love it, revel in it, freaking adore it when fic authors get creative.
And this is one where the fic author got creative.
Of course, that happens a lot with the TUA - between the super-powers and The Little Girl With The Bike, there's a lot of fertile ground for fandom creators to plant in.
Argh! Don't you freaking love it when people interact with art like this - exploring things that the main work probably won't?
Sorry - I'm doing it again, aren't I?
I just love the life that happens with fan creation - stories are breathing, art is living, y'know?

So, we pick up at the end of series 3 and things are Not Right.
Klaus can feel it. Klaus can't freaking stand it.
But while he would love to consult with The Little Girl on all of that, his siblings aren't too fond of the idea of him dying just to get some one-on-one time with an adolescent metaphysical entity.
He may not have much of a choice though...
I won't go into it too much, because I think it's best experienced with fresh eyes, but I really enjoyed the creative explorations here.
Like - we don't get much explanations in the show about the powers themselves. We might or might not get some details in the last series, but as of right now, we've got nothing except the concept of 'marigolds' which is vague at best.
This... comes up with some reasons. And it's clever.
It's very clever.

I think I'd like some answers! I don't want everything tied together and resolved but maybe an exploration of origin of powers would be cool.
ReplyDeleteIt would be interesting if it was - but it's not a 'I must have answers!' thing for me. But then, I'm used to Welsh mythology, where everything's just like, 'and then these two characters who were arguing turned into a bird and a fish and the bird chased the fish' with absolutely no explanation whatsoever. Lol.
