“Find the front door,” Bucky snapped when Sam’s eyes went to the window again. He smashed someone’s head down on the banister with enough force to crack either bone or wood. “I’m not jumping through glass.”
So, we're talking The Falcon and The Winter Soldier (TFATWS) again today... well, kind of.
Strictly speaking we're talking the nebulous period between Winter Soldier and Civil War where Sam was looking for Bucky on Steve's behalf, and Bucky was happily living his post-Hydra best life - as in, the one where he got to buy plums in goddamn peace!
...But it's got a TFATWS vibe, and both lead characters, so that's what we're calling it.
(Fandom notes:
Bucky's plums are a Marvel meme based on Bucky trying to buy plums in Civil War, and then everything descending into chaos.
The whole concept takes up head-rental space for many a Marvel fan.)
So this is a pretty straight-forward fic: Sam gets kidnapped. It sucks. Bucky gets kidnapped too. It still sucks.
What makes the fic, though, is the pi**ed off flirting between Sam and Bucky.

It's great.
We don't get all the way to SamBucky here, but hell, it's probably about as close as Marvel have ever gotten (*laugh-cries*)

Is it a ground-breaking piece of literature? No.
Is it entertaining as hell? Yes, yes it is.
And sometimes that's whatcha need.
