This week's fic is random af.
...I'd go as far as to say it's bordering on crack - don't get me wrong, it's not crack. But if you stand on your tippy-toes and look over the fence, you can probably see crack from here.

Crack fics are the most random, surreal, and bizarre of fics. They are cracked (to give it the non-drug-related definition.)
Think terminally online meets Alice in Wonderland, or else the Sasquatch sequence in Tenacious D's The Pick of Destiny, and you're more-or-less there.)
This is a fic with Tony Stark and Bucky Barnes of the MCU (Marvel movies etc.) in an Urban Fantasy AU.
Urban Fantasy, in case you don't know, is where supernatural creatures like werewolves and vampires hang around in the world as we know it. Usually in cities, hence the name, but a city location isn't a requirement.
This is either unknown by most of the general public, a la Buffy the Vampire Slayer, or completely out in the open, like in Laurell K. Hamilton's Anita Blake books.

So, in this fic Tony is an Incubus (male sexy-times demon,) who's signed up for a supernatural dating service.
Tony's date for the evening is Bucky.
And Bucky? Well, he won't tell Tony what kind of super he is. Which is... weird. But not a deal breaker. A lot of supers have hang-ups related to trauma, after all.
(The tags actually SPOIL what kind of magical being he is, so be aware of that.)
This is actually a quite sweet, short, romance...
...which also has a lot of the sexy-times/sex references/adult humour. Because incubus.
Urban Fantasy is an excellent allegory for Queerness generally
- and we're gonna pretend that I didn't read it almost exclusively at one point when I was so far in the closet that I had to get Aslan cat biskies and brush his mane 😅 -
what with the issues around people knowing whether you're supernatural, the bigotry, misconceptions etc.
There's a referenced back-story incident with Tony in this fic which...
in itself, on the surface, it's just more supernatural goings-on.
But I figured it was best to mention it specifically, since its pretty comparable, metaphor-wise, to a Trans-Panic-defence/'trap' intimate partner attack (those who know, know,) and I didn't want anyone coming across it without warning.
Maybe I'm over-reacting, and people won't notice. But it's always better safe than sorry.
The world-building here is confident enough to not have to push itself too much.
The 'rules' of this world are set out as far as we need to know them, but they're not pushed beyond that.
Mostly what we have is a sweet, humourous, love story between a billionaire sexy-times demon and his somehow-magical boyfriend.
