It's Thursday, I'm tired, let's get some comics-y superhero-y goodness!
Spidey Says Trans Rights!
In a world where the news and media for Trans and Queer people is increasingly hostile, it's especially heartening to see a film with a 'Support Trans Kids' flag doing exceptionally well at the box office.
Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse even featured said flag in the trailer, and many fans have read Spider-Gwen as Trans, or at the very least a Trans allegory.
Regardless, the flag is important, because, small though it may be - it's there. In the film. And that means a lot.
And no, I still haven't got over my aesthetic issues with the animation style to see the first Spider-Verse film.
Maybe one day I will, and I'm sure I'll love it... but I'm not there yet 😅
- I'm actually starting to wonder if it's to do with my migraine-related light-sensitivity, because I tried looking for gifs to go with this little talky-talk about the Spider-Verse, and couldn't find any that didn't hurt my eyes/head. 😣
So... not sure what to make of that! Any migraineurs have an insight?
Shameless Self-Promo
Last week's Friday Fics Fix was one that made me laugh, featuring Loki accidentally kidnapping Spider-Man...
...and that leading to a romance between Loki and Tony Stark because I am an unapologetic FrostIron shipper. 😅
Are you a Spider-Verse fan?
Did you know about the 'Protect Trans Kids' flag?
Talk to me! 😊💬
