You Can Just Stop Watching? (I Promise)
YouTuber/TikTokker Nicque Marina made a short video complaining about some people who make content related to the MCU (Marvel movies etc.) - reviews, rant videos, even some comedy - and don't even seem to like Marvel any more, to be honest.
I've talked about this in a broader sense before - I honestly don't know how people like that have the energy to keep up the constant stream of negativity.
I have noticed, lately, from some creators, the tendency to declare every new piece of Marvel media a failure, and only ever point out the negatives and how 'this phase has gone downhill and Marvel is sh** now.'
*eye rolls*
A lot of these creators are the ones who get deeply offended whenever a woman wears clothing that would actually protect her in a fight, or a Person of Colour is there in any sort of leading role, or LGBTQ+ people exist, etc. etc.
...And I expect this kind of cr*p from those losers, but some other people seem to have just spontaneously acquired this negativity recently and it's like - why are you still watching this then? Is it just for the views?
Because I honestly don't know why you're putting yourself through all this otherwise. You can just not watch the things, y'know? Smh.
Anyhow, Nicque Marina's video is well worth the watch -

ReplyDeleteLOL, I guess more - determined to ruin things for everybody else. They probably enjoy doing that. What mental paucity.
It's OK to criticise, but when the only tether you have to something is talking sh*t about it, wouldn't it be better to leave it alone?
Lol, yes! Why, if you a) dislike every piece of media in this franchise, and b) have nothing constructive to say, would you *continue* to watch this stuff?!
DeleteOk yes I need to go watch that video now because I've been thinking the same thing! It's totally ok for people to phase out of watching content but then to just hate watch and ruin it for everyone else is just annoying. Are Marvel movies overproduced right now? Some ppl could argue that, but that doesn't change the fact that ppl have the right to enjoy what they want and every movie is its own separate thing. To just dismiss everything as: "Marvel is sh*t now" discredits the good movies out there.
ReplyDeleteI know, right? And no-one's forcing them to watch! There's So Much Content out there - you can fill your days just as easily without watching MCU stuff, I promise! :)
