'“This isn’t some true-crime podcast, alright?”
Sam blinks again, taken aback by the sudden anger in Bucky’s tone. He opens his mouth, closes it, then opens it again to ask, “Who taught you about podcasts?”'
Should I be concerned, do you think, that this isn't the first time I've rec'd a The Falcon and The Winter Soldier (TFATWS) fanfic where Bucky's the ghost in a haunted house, and Sam has to deal with this sh**?
Meh, I guess it's not the weirdest fanfic trope that's out there. (Please, if you know what the weirdest trope is - DON'T tell me, I want to preserve what's left of my web-based innocence 😅)
(Fandom notes:
A trope is a narrative pattern that's kind of halfway between a genre and a theme.)
Anywho, despite the aforementioned ghost-house SamBucky premise, this is very different to the last fic I rec'd on those lines.
(You can check that post out here, btw, if you're interested!)
(Fandom notes:
SamBucky is a romantic and/or sexual relationship between Sam Wilson and Buck Barnes)
OK, so, the basics of this fic -
Nebula (yes, from Guardians of the Galaxy - her girlfriend in this is Mantis, and I love it,) owns a house that she would very much like real estate agent Sam Wilson to sell for her.
The problem is that it comes with a supernatural resident - one Bucky Barnes - and he's Not Leaving.
What follows is fun, shenanigans, and a pretty wacky romance, because why not?

Apparently - according to their own notes - the fic author ripped off the plot of a Hallmark film pretty heavily in places.
And that somehow works! 😅
Look, this one is very much about the entertainment.
So suspend your disbelief and enjoy 100+ pages of why-the-hell-not fun!
(It does get a little clumsy in the dialogue and prose in places, but I've read worse in professionally published books, and that's my benchmark!)
This fic does lightly cover some heavy topics, so have some Content Warnings:
- death (oddly enough)
- supernatural elements
- murder and assassination
- memory loss
- historic Homophobia
- racism, including institutional racism
- grief and bereavement
- loneliness (like, enough of it for me to actually mention as a Warning)
...I think that's everything, but as always, be careful!
This week's fic, then, is:
you know i didn't want to (have to haunt you) by dharmainitiative
Do you like ghost-story romances?
Do you think Sam and Bucky would fit one well?
Talk to me! 😎💬

I was gonna say that this definitely sounds like the plot of a hallmark movie, but a lot funner!
