Comics Wrap-Up - She Has The Kawaii Dumpster Fire On Her Desk

Title: Comics Wrap-Up. Background: lined-notebook-style with speech bubbles containing heart symbols

It's Thursday, it's February, let's get some comics-y superhero-y goodness!

Back to She-Hulk

I kind of fell behind on She-Hulk because I was watching The Umbrella Academy...

...and because I was busy working 2-3 jobs, and falling into the role of a carer for the umpteenth unscheduled time in my life, and doing that pesky sleeping and eating thing that people have to do...

So I'm back to it now! I'm currently on Episode 6 so no SPOILERS please.

And I'd forgotten just how much I love this show!

Especially Nikki - she has the kawaii dumpster fire on her desk, she's 100% amazing - and even Pug's really growing on me (the other lawyer dude who hangs around with them.)

I just... I love it! It rocks. And I felt the need to tell you that, just because 😅😘

DC's Big Gun(n)s

James Gunn, who is now co-CEO of DC Studios (check you out, Mr Fancy-Smancy director man!) released an announcement video for DC.

Basically, he explains that DC continuity has gotten too confusing (which... duh. I think DC continuity was born confusing.) So they're planning on making it a lot clearer when films and TV shows are actually part of the main continuity.

Which is the best idea they have had in a very long time. Because it had gotten more confusing than the X-Men continuity - which is saying something.

Gunn also introduced a whole lot of the first stage of DC Studios' 8-10-year-plan (a la Kevin Feige - always steal Marvel's ideas if they're good enough, it's the golden rule,) which... could be good.

It could also go down in a blaze of glory, especially given Warner Brothers' track record with hiring scandalous actors, production delays, and making weird business decisions (like making an entire Batgirl film and then just... not releasing it.) To say nothing of WTF happened with the CW TV shows.

Still, let's hope for the best!

Shameless Self-Promo Time!

Last week's Friday Fics Fix featured some Umbrella Academy angsty brotherly fanfiction, because I am trash...

...and I also managed to fit The Umbrella Academy into my Nerd Church post about writing and existential crises, because see aforementioned trash status.

  1. I heard Gunn is keeping Ezra Miller around? Which I don't support. While I do support Miller rehabilitating themself and getting mental health support, I don't think we can ignore the pain they have caused.

    1. I don't feel like I'm qualified to talk about Ezra Miller - I've heard so much conflicting info regarding what actually happened with them. The whole situation is a trainwreck, though - that's for sure.
