And it's not technically a Hawkeye fic, and it may have Sam and Bucky from The Falcon and The Winter Soldier (TFATWS)/MCU (Marvel movies) - but it's a shared universe, y'know?

I love the randomly specific trope of 'everyone knows that Sam and Bucky are a couple, except for Sam and/or Bucky.'

So, when you think about it, that really says more about you than me (*shifty glances*) 😅
I guess the subversive, Bookish Rebel, part of me delights in this trope using the Queerbaiting situation surrounding Bucky, and TFATWS in general, and making it part of the way they get together.
Everyone knows, we're just waiting for them to catch up 😎
(Show me fanfiction and I will show you a way to make it sociological 😅)
So, anyhow this fic features:
- Sam accidentally calling Bucky 'babe' in a meeting and it turning into A Whole Thing™
- Bucky coming up with increasingly obscure pet names for Sam
- Yelena, Kate, and Torres arguing over cartoons
- reality TV as Sam and Bucky's (mostly Sam's) self-care fallback (I related hard.)
- everyone thinking it's not possible for Sam to be this oblivious (Spoiler: it is.)
There are still a few Content Warnings to be aware of amongst the fun and frolics:
