Supergirl is one of the CW Arrowverse shows.
Like most of these shows, Supergirl is a cancelled series.
Which makes me sad. But we have fanfiction! Woo! (Lol.)

So this week's fic is centred on two of my favouritest characters - Brainy (aka Brainiac 5, aka Querl Dox,) and Nia Nal (aka Dreamer.)
Brainy is an alien from the future -
(because superhero shenanigans,)
- and Nia is the Transgender daughter of an alien and a human, who inherits the ability of the women on the alien side of her family to manipulate dream energy -
(again, superhero shenanigans.)
They are also meant for each other! (It's a canonic relationship, and I will die on this hill.)

This fic is uber sci-fi/comic-book-y in places, and depends a lot on specific canon as it's based around a specific episode/chain of events.
So there are a lot of SPOILERS, OK? SPOILERS everywhere!
It's a lot of fun, and it never (imho) gets too heavy on the sci-fi elements; it never ignores the feels, which is the important part!
Because of my emo goblin spaghetti brain, this fic also has hecka angst.
...But there's also comfort - don't worry! 😅
Basically, it's based around Brainy's ability to switch off his emotional side, and also the possible influence of his ancestors because of the Big Brain (a hivemind his species are plugged into.)
...Since his ancestors were mostly super-villains, and he, his friends, and his maybe ('maybe' in this fic,) girlfirend are all superheroes, things get messy. 😍😎😅
Quick heads-up: there's a Dissociated Identity Disorder (DID) metaphor/simile used for Brainy's mental state in this fic which I felt might be borderline problematic.
Honestly I don't know enough about either the fic author or DID to say for sure, but it felt like it might - MIGHT - be inaccurate and/or misleading, so I wouldn't feel right not mentioning it.
Again, I don't have enough info. to say for sure - the fic author might know a lot more than I do on this, but I thought I'd point it out just in case.
