So this is from the uber-specific sub-genre/trope of:
'Everyone in Sam's home town of Delacroix thinks that Sam and Bucky are a couple. The only people this is news to is Sam and Bucky who are definitely not a couple - right? Spoiler: wrong.'

...I will forever love that fanfiction can take one specific scenario and turn it into an entire specific thing on its own 😅
Like how time-loop fics about the film Ready or Not became their own thing - although that has way less basis in canon than this does!

Tropes are a set of specific conventions or elements - they're kind of half-way between a theme and a genre.
Canon is the 'official' stuff in the book/film/series/whatever.)
This fic basically has everything you'd want from this kind of fic.
The pacing is awesome: the awkward moments aren't brushed over, but aren't over-done either.
And both Bucky and Sam require the metaphorical equivalent of being hit over the head with the truth repeatedly before they realise that they are, in fact, a couple.
It's a lot of fun, quite a bit of fluff, and hits all the points you'd want it to hit.
