Friday Fics Fix - Bucky Gets A Book Club

'Sam scrubbed a hand over his face. “Look, I know you talk like that just to annoy me, that the ‘stoic brainwashed soldier’ thing is just an act-“

“I would never joke about perimeter security.”'

Have we established that I'm trash for The Falcon and The Winter Soldier (TFATWS) yet?

If not, let's establish it right now: I am trash for TFATWS. (Albeit trash that is still critical of their Queerbaiting, but here we are.)

And due to the fact that the series is now over, I have been consuming TFATWS fanfics at a possibly inadvisable rate.

Because I cannot get enough of this whole *makes vague hand motions* thing.

(And because, as mentioned in a previous post, the opportunity to combat mental health stigma and toxic masculinity is amazing!)

So if you give me a fic where Bucky has a zoom book club?

I think at this point it's a given that I'll be trash for that too.

Even though it would've been awesome to have more of the book club shenanigans themselves, the general Bucky-ness of this fic is entirely amazing.

Sam (Anthony Mackie) to Bucky (Sebastian Stan): Where do we start?

No real warnings to give with this one, except for references to mental health problems, therapy, and trauma.

Plus general references to military life, and related violence etc.

It's very much about recovering and enjoying life, though 😀 (plus it's funny af, because Bucky is getting on Sam's last nerve! Lol)

This week's fic, then, is:

You Need A Hobby, Man by MightyAmphitrite

Are you a TFATWS fan?

Bucky Barnes in a book club - yay or nay?

  1. Words cannot describe how much I loved this series. The therapy representation, the discussion about race, Bucky being such an amazingly flawed character. It was all amazing!!!
