'Dave got off on the 18th floor, looking back to see Klaus with his hand raised in a wave. Dave swore he had the words ‘Good Bye’ written on his palm'
This week's fic is a fun fic based around The Umbrella Academy (TUA)
(Yes, I know I am trash. 😅 We have established this thoroughly by this point. And I don't care.)
So this is a slight AU, and is focussed very firmly on the Dave/Klaus relationship, because I felt like reading a canonic Queer couple in love *shrugs*
The couple might be canonic here, but the way they meet is not - that's where the AU comes in.
(Fandom notes:
AU = Alternate Universe - a world that's the-same-but-different from the canon.
Canon = the 'official' stuff in the book/film/series/whatever)
This whole fic is set in an elevator at an apartment complex, and various meetings by Klaus and Dave in the same.
...and it does, in fact, manage to fit some sexy-times in.
Because for fanfiction, the temptation of a love story in a lift almost automatically means sexy-times. It wouldn't be fanfiction if two dudes were entirely chaste in a confined setting for this length of time. 😅

For the most part, though, this is just a sweet Queer rom-com, with enough of an edge to keep yours truly interested.
Because Klaus is still the ghost-seeing addict ex-teen-superhero we all know and love.
On that note: drugs and drinking to excess is bad kids! OK? OK. (See, I can be responsible 😉 😇)
(Plus this is named after an Aerosmith song, because fandom never lets me down!)
Some Content Warnings for this one:
- excessive drinking, drug use, addiction
- aforementioned sexy-times
- panic attacks and PTSD
- references to major injury
- references to military service
- references to child abuse
- family issues, because Umbrella Academy
This week's fic, then, is:
Love In An Elevator by Anglophile_Rin
Have you ever met someone interesting in a lift?
Or do elevators freak you out? (The vibrations freak me the hell out.)
Talk to me! 😀💬

I know elevators are a fear for a lot of people but I actually love them. They remind me of hotels and hotels remind me of being on vacation, something that I long for right now.
ReplyDeleteLol, fair enough!
DeleteThey're not a fear for me - I just don't like being in them cos the vibrations feel weird and give me a headache. Because I can't have 'normal' reasons for disliking them, ofc ;)
