It's Thursday, it's February, let's get some comics-y, superhero-y goodness!
This week's is unintentionally super-queer (ha, super 😎) and is once again all in the 'Other Stuff' category (#BlameLoki).
Other Stuff
Welsh Bisexual WWE star Tegan Nox has spoken to Brie Larson about how Captain Marvel helped her find the strength to come out, and to speak openly about her mental health problems.

I know nothing about The Walking Dead (TWD) except a) it's based on a comics series, and b) something something something zombies.
If a news story is accompanied by a pic of Nico Torterella though? I'm gonna click.
Nico Tortorella's open and loving media discussions around identity, fluidity, and ever-evolving labels helped me figure myself out at a time when I was uber-lost, and I will always be thankful to them for bringing the first truly joyful tears I ever shed around my Queerness.
So, the excellent Nico Tortorella is apparently starring as one half of a Queer couple in TWD spin-off, The World Beyond.
And the Internet being the Internet, a lot of trolls decided that somehow this wasn't acceptable.
But The Walking Dead franchise hit back beautifully. And it's just awesome that people - that franchises - are now willing to stand up and say that hatred isn't welcome.
Are you looking forward to The Eternals?
Are you loving Samuel L Jackson's face mask?

Ooh I love Nico Tortorella! They were on an episode of RuPaul's Celebrity Drag Race and they decided to do more genderfluid drag as opposed to just strictly feminine drag, and I thought that was super cool :)
ReplyDeleteThey rock - I'll have to find that episode! :)
