Micropoetry - September + October 2020

There is Micropoetry! Woo!

...The October pieces were kind of written in a weird headspace so... sorry about that!

The September one is a Haiku because apparently in 2020 I write Haikus! (Seriously, I think I've written more Haikus this year than I ever have before.)

It was also one of those things which just kinda pop into my head, and then won't leave me alone until I do something with them 😅 #WriterProblems

As always, the poetry is in the alt-text of the images for those of you using screen readers, with / marks showing line breaks.

12th Sep // He has a wolf's smile / As he looks into her eyes / "I don't bite," he lies
dividing line
12th Oct // Your heart / Must have broken / A long time ago / Leaving behind broken shards // You pick up the sharp pieces, / And use them as weapons / To make other hearts / As damaged as yours
dividing line
21st October // It might seem simple to you / But I've taken so many hits, / That it / Seems like a mountain / From here // My muscles are screaming / I was never a good climber / But there's only one way to go / Raise my hand to another crevice / Scramble for purchase / Heave in an impossible breath

  1. If there's anything I learnt from my poetry class it's that writing haikus are so fun! I've been having a blast creating them. Awesome poems, Cee!
