Whew! A whole month without any Comics Wrap-Up posts, dearest nerdlets! Didja miss me?

You know the drill: it's Thursday, the world is a dumpster fire, let's get some superhero-y comics-y goodness!

We got a whole bunch of stuff this week, due to online conventions/reveals/all that jazz!

A Tribute

This week brought us the sad news that Chadwick Boseman, who played T'Challa/The Black Panther in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, making history with the blockbuster Black Panther movie, passed away at the age of just 43.

Along with this came the astounding news that he had worked in some of the biggest roles of his career - including as T'Challa - already having had a cancer diagnosis since 2016.

He was most definitely a talent, one that it's so sad was lost so soon.

His legacy, though, is supremely powerful, and will continue to mean so much to so many people.

TV Shows

As you probably expected, I have been watching the amazing Netflix TV show, The Umbrella Academy, which is now in it's second series.

I'm only about 1/2 way through - so NO SPOILERS please!

Is it random as f**k? Yes.

Has it given me the feels and made me want to slap some sense into one or more characters? Yes.

Am I loving it so far? HELL YES!

TV Trailers

It looks like the Snyder Cut of Justice League is actually a thing that is happening.

(If you don't know wtf that is then you've clearly never watched DC nerds argue on the Interwebs... and good for you. I explained it in a Comics Wrap-Up a li'l while ago, and you can see that post here.)

I mean, the most obvious thing is: SOMEONE TURNED THE LIGHTS ON!

Like, I can actually see the actors - what is this sorcery?! (Lol.)

Warning: FLASHING IMAGES, violence, death.

Film Trailers

We have a new trailer for Wonder Woman 1984! With some questionable fashion choices! #HistoricallyAccurate

We have our first trailer for The Batman!

This is the millennial grunge/emo-crossover-period-child version of Batman. And I'm kind of living for it, tbh!

(There's a 'children of the night' joke in there somewhere, what with the bats and everything, but I'm too lazy to find it.)

This Batman has been in Bucky Barnes' make-up box while singing Welcome to The Black Parade.

This Batman was raised on a diet of Nightmare Before Christmas and The Used.

This Batman is played by Robert Pattinson... who is apparently contractually obligated to rescue people from cars that are about to smoosh them at least once in the course of an acting job.

Other Stuff

A sneak-peek/behind-the-scenes whatjamajig of The Suicide Squad!

It looks good dammit!

Warning: FLASHING IMAGES, violence

Wanna know which characters are in The Suicide Squad?

DC have put together this handy roll-call!

  1. The news about Chadwick Boseman was very hard to accept. 2020 has been so hard on so many people, that taking away an icon in the Black community is just heartbreaking. I’m glad that we can remember him though through tributes and through amplifying Black media.

    1. It's a real loss - he was clearly amazingly talented. <3
