February... I mean, on a personal level, February wasn't too bad.
I had a few colds (and yes, they were colds,) and some bad depression days, but nothing too much.
Although *gestures vaguely at the state of the world* I realise that more than a few squares have been crossed off on our apocalypse bingo cards.
But we've been crossing those things off since 2016, so it's probably not that surprising.
And a reminder, my dearest darling nerdlets: where there's life there's hope, and where there's hope, there's life.
On the blogging front - I posted a review this month!
#StillABookBlogger!
Here in Wales, February was a month of devastating flooding - I'm fine, don't panic, but a lot of people weren't so lucky.
The damage is... bad. We've had a record amount of rain for February - which is impressive; Wales is used to rain.
Not to mention the worry caused by the old coal tips sliding... this is industrial waste from days of the mining industry which has been moving in landslips.
People live beneath these tips - and yes, they can kill.
If you wanna help out, you can give to actor Michael Sheen's fund for the flood victims - there's a JustGiving page here.
I understand if you can't afford to, or just don't want to, donate, and that's fine. I don't want to guilt anyone into anything.
But I will tell you that the affected communities are some of the poorest here.
Good, hard-working, people, many who have struggled to bring their businesses to these communities, have lost everything.
...And it's going to damage our economy as a whole, tbh. We're small.
And if the first week of March been anything to go by, the risk of flooding is far from over. Again, I'm fine, though the transport routes are requiring some creative adaptations sometimes.
So, anything you can give to this appeal will be so appreciated - if you choose to do so.

*I've had a lot of spammy-looking traffic this month, so I've had to change the analytics I use for this section.
Hopefully my adjustments have worked out - I usually use Blogger's figures to give the most popular posts, but Blogger had 4000+ spammy hits from Sweden. (Blogger doesn't think anything is a bot. Ever.)
So, for this month only, I've used Google Analytics. The problem is a) Analytics counts mobile & desktop as DIFFERENT GODDAMN PAGES (Argh!) and b) Analytics thinks EVERYTHING is a bot.
...ridiculous considering Blogger & Analytics are both owned by Google but... *shrugs*

I’m glad you’re safe from the flooding. I hope a lot of money is raised for the victims. I’m constantly irritated at Blogger and Google Analytics / AdSense. I think my blog is having a good day, and I’m going to make some ad money, but then nope. AdSense decides that everything is bots. I hope you’re having a good March!
ReplyDeleteAj @ Read All The Things!
Thanks, I hope so too. People are struggling atm.
DeleteYES on the Adsense too! It's like, stop telling me I didn't have traffic then, *I had a non-spammy comment in that time period.* Argh!
Sorry your February was difficult, Cee! Glad you and your family is safe, and hopefully any damages will be resolved soon.
ReplyDeleteThe news is not looking great these days. I’ve been latching on to any positive news I can find. Sometimes the best thing to do is just mute a lot of words on social media.
I hope you have a happy (and healthy) March!
Like I said, it wasn't too bad :) <3
DeleteThe flooded areas... it's gonna take a while to deal with the damage, tbh. Some insurance companies have given people caravans to put in their back gardens until the houses are safe and liveable, and a lot of the kids are struggling.
Positivity is awesome - keep hold of positivity! :) <3
Oh yeah, February, and how the month has kicked off in March is definitely showing how we are living in quite the apocalyptic style world... I'm just waiting for one strong female woman to stand up and start revolutionising or finding a cure... then I'll know we have truly reach peak YA dystopian situation too!
ReplyDeleteHa, 'one strong female woman' needs to be a tagline for something - it just does XD
