Cos sometimes, you just need something totally ridiculous. Let's be honest.
I love fics which are... well, just short of crack.
Especially MCU fics.
Cos the MCU just lends itself towards fun and humour... plus its heroes are well-known quippers, and they threw a freaking talking space raccoon at us, and we just accepted it.
(You lot know I love Rocket though, so no complaints on that front! ...I def. relate too hard to that raccoon 😅)
(Fangirling notes:
Crack is a fandom term used for something with high levels of Charlie-the-Unicorn-style internet humour, which often incorporates memes and/or the mental state of a kid who's eaten too many Smarties. (Do international folks have Smarties...?)
It's usually used for situations which... make people worry that you might've been high when you came up with it. #Don'tDoDrugsKids!
MCU is the Marvel Cinematic Universe - the Avengers movies and all that.)
Anyway, we're talking just short of crack here - and, sadly, with a distinct lack of talking raccoons.
It does include the OG Avengers, and a humourous set-up (in which Captain America is at war with vacuum cleaners...)

Because fic authors CAN ABSORB THE COMICS CANON WHEN IT COMES TO DIVERSITY.
...*ahem* - the lack of Clint's deafness in the MCU is something of an irritation to yours truly.

We do have smarties in Canada, although I have to ask, what are smarties to the UK? In Canada, they are little colourful candy coated chocolates. In the US, they are powdery, slightly sour candies. To me, I only except the former.
ReplyDeleteOMG you have them! Woop! XD Sounds like they're similar in the UK to the US - chocolates with a colourful sugar shell. They're also notorious for sending kids hyperactive on account of the colours (although their colours are all 'natural' these days - as if natural sh** can't give you a sugar rush!) :)
