'One cab ride huddled in the back attempting not to vomit later, Sherlock is standing at the doors for New Scotland Yard trying desperately not to pass out.'
One of the many excellent things about fanfiction is that it can provide wish fulfilment for both the author and the reader.
(Not like that! Minds in the gutter ...Although, there is a bunch of fanfiction about that sort of wish fulfilment too!)
So things that you won't get to see in the TV series or film or whatever - or things that are just hinted at - you can find explored in their full glory in fanfiction.
Nowhere is this more true than in fandoms with limited canon off which to feed.
And few TV series have such limited canon as BBC's Sherlock.
(...I can practically hear the Sherlockians making kdngjksrhglkssklwirjeri noises of agreement!)
(Fangirling notes: canon is the stuff which actually happens in the official media; i.e. the books, films, TV series, etc.
BBC's Sherlock has notoriously few episodes, giving us only two or three episodes per series.
Sherlockians are fans (espec. those who consider themselves 'in the fandom') of BBC's Sherlock.
The smashing keyboard noise I'll let you figure out for yourself.)
...I love Sherlockians 😅 Via Giphy |
So, if you wanted to, say... see Sherlock's big brother Mycroft stand up for Sherlock against his equivalent of workplace bullies...
And if you wanted that to be because Sherlock pushed himself too hard when he was ill and went to New Scotland Yard to help Lestrade anyway...
And ended up unable to stand up for himself because he just felt so bad...
Then I've got you covered!

This week's fic, then, is:
Words Hurt Too, You Know by GalaxyThreads
What would be your 'wish fulfilment' fic?
(Relatively clean please!)
Can any fandom out-meme the Sherlockians?!
