'“To mine” interjected James, the tall boy with mousy hair and glasses. “Padfoot ran to mine and now he’s staying there.'
Welcome to the second week of F3's* HP Halloween!
Yep, October is for Harry Potter fanfiction - the king of fandoms in terms of quantity (you can't deny it, it's totally true!)
*F3 = Friday Fics Fix. It's just easier to say sometimes. 😅
For this week's fic, we're gonna travel back in time, to pre-Harry Potter, post-Fantastic Beasts, days - so be careful how you set your time-turners!
...we wouldn't want you taking a wrong turn and ending up face to face with Grindelwald! 😉
So this is 'Marauders Era' fanfiction - James, Sirius, Remus, and Peter.
This setting is always popular in fanfiction - maybe because there's so little of it in the books, and the views that we do get are somewhat contradictory.
(Which I think is clever, tbh. We never get a 'definitive' view of any of the Marauders, or of Snape. You gotta love an enigma or two 😉)
...And that means that there're a lot of gaps and 'what ifs' for fanfiction to fill in!

This week's fic is, at heart, a gentle li'l fic.
And I think we can all do with a gentle li'l fic sometimes 😊
It's short and sweet, about the Marauders on the train back to Hogwarts, supporting each other and just being damned good friends.
It's cotton-candy levels of wholesomeness!
...And that's refreshing, sometimes.
This week's fic, then, dearest nerdlets, is:
Return to Hogwarts by moonyspatrcnus
Do you know of any gentle/wholesome fanfics?

I know a lot of people love the marauders and wanted more from them in the books. I was kinda indifferent tbh, but I did always love Lupin so I would have liked to see more of him.
ReplyDeleteI'm with you - I wouldn't have minded more of them, but I'm OK with what we got! It leaves an intriguing space for fanfiction to fill though ;)
