Once a year, there is the event of all comics-y-ness - San Diego Comic Con (SDCC).
Unfortunately, most of us can't sell our souls to get to SDCC...
...but fortunately, the trailers the big companies release there trickle out over the next couple of weeks, and the big announcements are pretty much immediate!
TV Trailers
There's a teaser trailer for the new (and last) series of Arrow!
We got extremely little new footage, and even less new information - which is annoying. But it's still a visually appealing trailer!
(Warning: SPOILERS for previous series, flashing images, graphic violence and murder)
And the new Flash teaser trailer!
Sendhil Ramamurthy is here! I love him so much! I remember him from back in the Heroes days and everything!
Unfortunately, it looks like he's a villain - but he can also play an awesome villain (he can play dancing tree #7 and I'll still watch it - he's awesome!)
(Warning: flashing images)
Other Stuff
Amongst Marvel's approx. 38567904yhgkj announcements, was the news that Valkyrie will finally be confirmed as LGBTQ+ in MCU.
About goddamn time! We also have the vague news that The Eternals (Greek/Roman Gods in the Marvel Universe) will also have an LGBTQ+ character, but not which one it is.
And this God is a woman!
In line with the Comics, the new Thor movie will see Natalie Portman's Jane Foster take the mantle of Thor-hood from... well, Thor.*
*Video plays in link.
Also awesome-sauce news is that the exceptionally beautiful and wacky human being that is Taika Waititi is back as director! I love him.
And lastly, this week, to throw us a curve-ball, Marvel announced Mahershala Ali as the new Blade!
Any other SDCC news that you're excited about?
Are you looking forward to all the superhero-y goodness?

'God is a woman' is (oddly enough) from God is a Woman* by Ariana Grande

Being a Greek mythology nerd, I might really like The Eternals! I gotta check it out!
ReplyDeleteYou might! I think sometimes there's other mythologies shoved in for good luck, but I remember Hercules and Icarus being key parts in a lot of their *waves hands vaguely* goings-on! :)
