OK, you all full of chocolates and sweets and Halloween sugar-hangovers?
Well, our favourite trickster God's been at his own Halloween tricks, and you know what that means - everything's in the 'Other Stuff' category!
Well played Loki, well played.

Other Stuff
The people at Screen Junkies have come up with yet another awesome Honest Trailer - this one for Batman: The Animated Series.
(Warning: flashing images)
The guys at How It Should Have Ended (HISHE) posted a Halloween special of their Villain Pub series.
Yes, yes, there are non-comics villains here too, but it's mainly about superheroes and supervillains, so it totally counts. *shifty glances*
Honestly, I love this - their doorbell is HAL from 2001: A Space Odyssey! 😂

DeleteMy halloween consisted of me lying in bed in my pajamas watching Jeopardy and eating chocolate lol! But in all seriousness, I think that Halloween is funner when you’re in grade school. Now, I have less motivation to find a good costume and they can be so expensive!
ReplyDeleteLol, sounds like a good night to me! I don't really dress up - I only used to get dressed up for parties on account of my parents having weird issues with trick-or-treating as a capitalist perversion or something... I've literally only been trick-or-treating once, when I was fourteen or fifteen, and I had to lie to my parents and tell them I was going to a party to drink alcohol. This is not a joke. (They're actually excellent parents but that particular story makes them sound terrible!)
DeleteI always enjoy trick or treat with my kids (and grown up parties too). This year my 6 year old got tired early so we ended up coming home earlier than usual. We have tons of candy! I am giving up half to send to the troops overseas.
ReplyDeleteIs Halloween a big thing in Wales?
Dinh@Arlene's Book Club
Halloween is popular here, but not as huge as it is in America. Plus it rained like hell this year so we didn't get many trick-or-treaters!
DeleteWe do have a bunch of traditional customs, though, mostly about fortune-telling - teenage girls are our best bet for keeping them going! I used to read the stones so much as a teenager - like, year round, we'd form a circle on the school field and cast three stones to ask the spirits questions. We even used to do it in class using pencil erasers when the teachers weren't watching! (Which, since the teachers weren't that observant, meant it happened a lot.)
We managed to avoid Halloween altogether this year. It doesn't seem to be much celebrated in France as they focus more on All Saints Day on the 1st. We stayed in and watched a film (Three Billboards, pretty good). I want a HAL doorbell!
ReplyDeleteAll Saints in Wales is Dydd Gaeaf Gyntaf - the 1st day of winter. Technically, October 31st is Nos Gaeaf Gyntaf - the first night of winter. :)
DeleteOoh, I like Three Billboards! There's a couple of issues with it, but it's good. I love the girlfriend of the ex who seems like she's walked in from another film entirely... ;)
I know, right! It could play 'Daisy Daisy' and everything ;)
