The Real Neat Blog Award

Real Neat Blog Award pic

The Rules:

1. Thank the blogger who nominated you and link back to them.

The lovely Emily @ The Paperback Princess tagged me to do this post waaaaay back in September 2016, because I'm woefully behind on tag posts.

*shrugs* Meh. I'll get to 'em when I get to 'em!

Thanks Em! :)

(Also, expect much question-dodging - if I was a politician and/or not so inclined to give the frank and brutal truth, I'd be dangerous.)

2. Answer the 7 questions they gave you.

1. What book is your guilty pleasure read?

I don't really believe in guilty pleasures - no guilt here dammit!

But I'm a big fan of trash. You know, the stuff that's the book equivalent of junk food?

A lot of the time the dude on the cover of that type of book has no head - he is just an oiled torso.

(He also apparently turns into some kind of wolf or kitty @ some point during the plot; or a biker/police dude/army dude/billionaire. No-one just works in an office in these things!)

And of course, I love fanfiction. And some of that is pretty terrible - lol! ;)

The only thing I feel any 'guilt' over is problematic books - but even that is more... frustrated/angry annoyance? That a good book has been wrecked by racism or bigotry or whatever? *shrugs*

2. Play "Snog, Marry, Kill" with your LEAST favourite characters.

You what? Emily what kind of question is this?!

No. I'm not answering this. I don't agree with forced romantic contact, or murder. ;)
3. Favourite book to movie/tv show adaptation?

Urm... I have no idea.

I tend to appreciate different aspects in adaptations than I do in the source material (i.e. the book,) and so I will argue about things that I liked and things I didn't 'til the ever-loving cows come home.

Plus I'm terrible at picking my favourite of anything!

4. What book genre would you erase from this world? i.e. eliminate all books in said genre.

Why would I want to do this...?

Also, how did I get these powers? Is this like a telepathy-thing, or do I just have the ability to ban things?

If it's a telepathy thing, then forget eliminating genres, I'ma make sh** fly!

...I think I may've broken the question.

5. Are you a cat person or a dog person?

KITTIES EVERYWHERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(Ahem) I'm a cat person.

I actually used to be scared of dogs - although I was always better with big dogs ('cos they're goofy and lovable,) but now I'm pretty good with most dogs. But I still very much prefer cats.

6. What exotic animal would you have as a pet?

I wouldn't! Exotic animals only make good pets if you have the right environment and the knowledge to look after them.

I wouldn't feel confident enough to take care of them - excepting something like fish or birds, or maybe a turtle or a tortoise (these are exotic to British people, m'k?) but even then I'd do loads of research first.

Plus my mother's scared of birds and won't let me bring any in the house! (Cos I loooove birds! Lol.)

7. Which fictional character would you want to bring to life and be your best friend?

Well, The Bestie is actually the bestest bestie, and so I could never replace her ;)

But if she wasn't around... any of the animals from Winnie-the-Pooh: especially Pooh bear, Tigger, and Eeyore, because they'd be the best to cwtch*! XD

*The best and most comfortable hug you've ever had? We in Wales call them cwtches, and give them freely.

3. Think up 7 more questions and nominate 7 other bloggers to answer them.

OK, I really don't know who to tag, so if you feel like tagging yourself and answering my random-a** questions, then do so!

  1. What kind of floof monster (i.e. pet,) is the best for you?
  2. Dinosaurs, yay or nay?
  3. What's the best library you've been to?
  4. What's your superpower/s? (Don't lie, I know you have some!)
  5. If you had £1 million (or whatever your currency is,) to divide between three charities, what charities would they be?
  6. How many roads must a man walk down before you can call him a man? (This question also applies to women and others.)
  7. Describe the plot of a book in 140 characters or less. (Spoilers are obv. permitted, but you may wanna give a spoiler warning.)

Hope you enjoyed my randomness! :)

  1. Lol, I love your ability to dodge answers in the most witty way! Just to make sure, I don't condone murder or keeping exotic animals against their will either, those are just figuratively ;)
