I'm tired of reading things about sexually fluid celebrities and finding hate comments, or coming across hate stuff on Twitter.
So I thought I'd give you just a little taste of some of the stuff that's said out there in interweb land about sexually fluid people.
What's worse is that most of these come from queer news websites - only the first two are your average Twitter trolls.
There's also a good chunk of biphobia.
This is pretty typical, in honesty, and I don't want to stop reading articles about sexually fluid people just because of the hate in the comments section but... it does make me think twice.
The thing is, we're not as large a community as many other orientations, so when someone does come out as fluid - or as something relating to it e.g. non-label, label-fluid, abrosexual, or label-flexible - then I want to support them.
I've removed identities from these comments because I don't want to be accused of bullying, or have these a**-h*les come back at me.
'The new alphabet letter Fluid for sexually fluid. How much more depravedcan these people be. Used to be called a nymphomaniac' |
'Is being sexually #Fluid still a thing? Have we gotten past this crap no one really cares about? #ASKINGFORAFRIEND' |
'so what we used to call slut is now just sexually fluid? And how does that differ from bisexual?' 'Actually on point conclusive of what this guy says in the article "...men and women" = bisexual!!!' |
So, I just wanted the evidence out there. Sorry if I brought you down! Have a lovely day guys!

Ugh these are awful. I just try to avoid reading comment sections on any sort of article that's likely to have hateful comments because it gets me too aggravated.
ReplyDeleteThat's a good plan tbh. It's not always easy though. *sighs*
DeleteWhat the hell? That's so awful! "what we used to call slut". So you mean, when you used to shame other people for enjoying their (sex) lives? Sigh. And I don't even know what that person means by there is only bi behavior, but not people. That doesn't even MAKE ANY SENSE.
ReplyDeleteHumanity just lets us all down so frequently.
Welcome to the world of bigoted queers: they don't make sense. But there are a lot of them... somehow.
DeleteTrue. Humanity can be cr*p. But it can also be awesome - like you! :)
This is actually disgusting. I've seen you call out a few people on twitter and I guess there's not much else you can do. Educate and hope that someone will take the hint. All the hugs, Cee!
ReplyDeleteYep. That's the sort of thing that people say - and worse, sometimes. But that's the internet.
DeleteAll I can do is a) educate and b) show the evidence.
Thanks Em! XD
Wow, there's lot of hate and ignorance out there.
ReplyDeleteI don't know why people do that since it's out there in print on the internet...keep your opinions to yourself I say!
Or maybe they can work on not assuming the worst of people, or generally being awful people!
DeleteStill, there are people like you out there too! And that's cool! :)
People can be so horribly rude on the internet, and it's all because they can really hide behind a laptop screen. But that is no excuse, really. It's kind of sad, but I usually never read follow up comments from others or when watching videos just avoid the comment section. It's too much trouble for me and usually ends up just making me angry :P
ReplyDeleteYeah - it's not always easy to entirely avoid the comments, but I do try!
Deletewow what is WRONG with people??? WTH??? I'm so freaking tired of labels and plain cruelty! That's why I had unfriend a bunch of people in my personal fb account during the elections. I can't even read what is happening anymore. Thanks for posting
ReplyDeleteLabels are fine if used correctly - and not ridiculed. I had to tell a guy on Twitter off once for making a lewd joke about sexual fluidity and he responded with, 'don't get so caught up on labels!' And I'm like, dude, really? Did you really just say that to a fluid person?!
DeleteSlurs, insults, and, yeah, cruelty, just aren't ok. People can just be so... ugh!
I don't want other people to feel like they have to squash themselves into boxes they don't fit in - like I did for a long time. And people denying fluidity, or saying that it's equivalent with being a wh*re, might just reach someone at the wrong time, and do some real damage.
Thanks for commenting - the lovely people commenting on this post have made me feel like maybe there's hope for this world after all! :)
I have given up reading the comments in lots of articles because they just make me angry. People feel that they are permitted to leave discriminatory comments. Pen x #mg
ReplyDeleteIt's not always easy to avoid the comments - but I do try! :)
DeleteSorry, forgot to tag #RV&HT
ReplyDeleteHa, no problem! :)
DeleteI think the biggest problem is that people are idiots and they congregate online. I hardly ever read comments in news sections because it's full of people arguing with themselves!
ReplyDeleteThanks for joining #RV&HT I'd had a little break and it'll be back next week xx
