Month in Review(s) - June 2019

June kind of flew by!

Partly because I was super-busy! Which is also why I (once again) posted less here than I wanted to.

I did manage to post a review though! Woo! I can still call myself a book blog! (Lol.) πŸ˜…

So, June was another up-and-down kind of month.

On the plus side:

  • went to the wedding of an old friend and actually enjoyed myself!
  • did other social-y things! (Look how brave I am!)
  • hung out on #QWriters on Twitter - love it!
  • published my 1000TH POST!
  • started feeling a li'l better over-all, Depression-wise
On the minus side:

  • the heat ALWAYS makes my Anxiety worse, and this month was no exception
  • Queer existential crises (just because, really)
  • work stress
  • some Very Very Bad evenings/nights, and one Extremely Bad day, Depression-wise (I'm talking physically shaking with how bad I felt, and not knowing why)
  • high pollen - my eyes, guys, my eyes

I also ended up showering the cat! #TrueStory 😸

It went better than I thought it would, honestly. At least I got all the oil off him! (He likes to sit under cars and faff around on tractors.)

It seems only right that my most popular post for Pride Month was one about the Gay subtext of High School Musical 2 😎

  1. Congrats for doing some socially things, Cee! For us folks with anxiety, every little victory should be celebrated. Hope you have a great July!

    1. Ha, he needed it dammit! He was surprisingly well behaved... not so fond of me squeezing the water out of his fur to dry him!

'Being social is always fun!' - ha, I'll just have to trust you on that one. Anxiety means being social is often a difficult, or just plain terrifying, experience. Which is why I'm so happy I got through doing social stuff without it being too bad! :)

  4. You made me happy with your social outings that you were able to enjoy. Anxiety sucks and is not just something "to get over." I hope you didn't get scratched showering your cat. I know I had to bathe mine once and he was NOT happy to put it mildly.

    1. Thank you!

Ha, I've had to bath him in a bowl before, but he kicked it over and flooded the kitchen! So since I was home alone, and had just got out of the shower myself, I was like: 'ok, this is how it's gotta be!' He was surprisingly good - much better than bathing him in a bowl! He just got annoyed when I was squeezing the water out of his fur so I could let him out!

He didn't scratch me - he never scratches on purpose anyway, he just sometimes catches someone with a claw when he's being careless and squirming to jump out of your arms. He's a v. well-behaved cat! (Which I'm grateful for, b/c he's mostly white, which means I end up cleaning him in various ways quite a lot!)
