Month in Review(s) - September 2018

Ohmygod September.

September was a f**king rollercoaster. The type where you throw up a lot.

(I'm actually kind of quietly impressed with this graphic that I threw together in like, 15 minutes! Lol.)

On the good side:

It was my birthday! Woop!

(If you wanna give me a present, you can get me a coffee here! If not, I still love ya! 😊)

And you, my dearest nerdlets, have been awesomely awesome and I really love all of the lovely messages and shout-outs and stuff and you rock!

And I absolutely loved the discussion that took place in the comments section of my Banned Books Week post.

Like, there was actual polite and intelligent debate! (Which is kinda rare on the Internet!)

On the other side of things...

Oh. My. God.

Not only is my Nan still in hospital, but my grandfather (who turned 89 this month,) fell at home and is now in hospital too.

Their conditions are definitely up and down - the minute we think they're recovering, something else happens.

And they're in wards at opposite ends of the hospital with the same visiting times.

So we basically sprint from one end to the other every time we visit.

My grandfather also switches languages more when he's tired or ill. So that's kinda fun. Especially since my uncle wasn't even aware that he speaks Welsh.

My mam also had another cancer scare (she's fine! Don't panic!)

Further tests showed that it was old scar tissue, and she's now hit the 5-year clear mark! (Woo!)

But it goes in the 'bad stuff' part of this wrap-up because it was stressful as f**k!

I am SO freaking glad she's ok!!!!!! Phew!

So, what with everything, October is likely to be a play-by-ear situation as far as blogging goes.

I'll let you all know via Twitter if there's any interruption to my regular post-series - hopefully there won't be, but I can't make any guarantees at the moment.

Those of you who like my Micropoetry posts (and I love you so much!) will have to wait a while for the next wrap-up.

I only wrote one piece of Micropoetry in September, so I'm gonna combine September and October into one post - it just makes more sense.

I'm also hoping to get a Pinterest account up and running this month; I've been trying, but the glitches are... interesting.

Me and technology! Lol.

As soon as it's up, running, and somewhat stable, I'll let you all know!

  1. Happy birthday! I hope your grandparents heal quickly. I love Pinterest, but the glitches are infuriating! Sometimes the site is so slow that it’s unusable. I get error messages a lot, and sometimes it doesn’t save my captions. *Sigh.* Technology.

    1. Thanks! I hope they do too. Yeah... me and technology don't have the best of histories... I think most technology has a personal dislike of me, tbh! ';D

  2. I’m sorry about your grandparents! I hope they heal up quickly. I’ve been seeing your Pinterest frustration tweets lol! I think I had an account for 15 minutes before I gave up.

    1. Thanks Em! I randomly had a dream where you visited Wales last night, btw, and we finally got to hug in person! Lol :)

Ha, I'm glad my technical difficulties are at least amusing! ;)

  3. So sorry you had such an stressful September, I've gone through similar things and it was... well, crap. Hope things get better soon, and that October is much more relaxed and positive!

Heh, nope, cats don't help at all. Mine woudn't drink from his waterbowl at first, so we started using a glass (or rather, multiple glasses); then he got bored, and he decided big bowls was the way to go, so the house looked like we had leaks in the ceiling or something; and now... now 90% of the time he'll only drink from the bathtub tap. /o\ I don't know about other cats, but this one is a full-time job!

    1. Thank you! <3

Haha, cats are weird little fur-monsters, but I wouldn't be without them!

Thanks do much for the awesome comment; do you have a blog or website where I can return the favour?

  7. Happy late birthday! So sorry to hear about your grandparents. I'm glad you could find some humor in the situation--your grandfather's switch to Welsh and your uncle's new knowledge. Thank God for your mom being okay. I hope your October is less stressful.

  8. If I didn't say it already, happy birthday! I'm really sorry to hear your grandparents are having so many health troubles though :-( I hope they'll get better soon.

That's frustrating that you're having so many issues with Pinterest. Hopefully you'll figure it out since it's such a fun website!

    1. Thank you! And yeah... they're not great, but not awful, so that's something! *sighs*

I haven't had time to see what glitches have/have not straightened themselves in a couple-a weeks, so hopefully next time I try it it'll be magically sorted! Lol.
