You want some Harry Potter fanfiction discussing mental health problems? (Of course you do, is that even a question?!)*
This fic could be heavy sh** for some people, so be CAREFUL when reading my nerdlets.
*Yes, there was coffee
I love the idea that Hermione set up this support-group post-Wizarding-War but everyone's like...
Ugh! *rolls eyes* *backs away slowly* 😅
Let's be honest - this is what would actually happen when she talked about this to Draco!

...but goes along with it anyway cos Hermione's not the kind of chick who gives up easy! 😁 Lol.
I also like that Draco finds it hard to communicate in anything other than quotes from writers etc. because he just can't find the words to explain himself most of the time.
This fic does get a bit 'love-cures-mental-illness' - which, regular readers will know is a trope that I can't STAND, but luckily it's not too heavy in this fic.
This fic is also Drarry (a romantic and/or sexual relationship between Harry Potter and Draco Malfoy,) which I love reading because I'm totally Drarry trash.
(Unless there's ever a chance for Scorbus to be canon - because OTP.)
(Fangirling notes:
Scorbus is a relationship between Scorpius Malfoy and Albus Potter.
Canon is official franchise stuff.
OTP is 'one true pairing' - the (relation)ship you would throw thousands of others away to achieve! Lol.)
The awesomeness of exploring mental health in the aftermath of the Harry Potter series is something I will ALWAYS read! XD
Hopefully you'll agree with me that this week's fic is worth the read!
So, this week's fic is:
Hermione Granger's Support Group for the Depressed by TheGreenCloak
(and yes, that title is v. on-the-nose! 😅 )
Do you know any awesome fanfics that deal with mental health problems?

Well this looks interesting! The title of this post really grabbed my attention and i’m glad to see people putting hard issues into HP.
ReplyDeleteHa, the title of this post is thanks to coffee and a looooooong workday! ;)
DeleteIt makes sense that most, if not all, Harry Potter characters would struggle with their mental health after the series ended though, y'know? So I love when people are like, 'F**k it, this is what would happen!' Lol :)
Oh this does sound good! And I feel like it's something that would actually happen. Like, Hermione prob would set up a support group, and everyone else prob would would their eyes and try to avoid it, but in the end they'd attend anyway because Hermione is just that persistent lol.
ReplyDeleteAlso, there's a picnic blanket where they're not allowed to judge each other. Lol XD
DeleteThat sounds pretty cool (except I don't think I'd be a fan of Drarry :D wow, everything exists in the fandomverse, doesn't it!) It's also really cool that you read fanfics. I've never been able to get into any non-canon stuff :D
ReplyDeleteDrarry is a huuuuuge part of the fanverse! XD (There are far weirder pairings. Rule #34: If it exists, there *is* porn of it.)
DeleteFanfiction rocks! I get that some people can't get into it, but I think that the potential for exploring the material is just amazing! XD It all adds to the beauty and interpretation of the characters and stories. It's modern myth-making that you can see happening right in front of your eyes! :)
