This week, I've been reading some YA fanfiction.
Most of the fanfiction I read is actually TV/movie-based (maybe because a lot of the fanfiction out there in internet-land is based on TVs and movies stuffs! Lol.)
I figured I'd read some book-based fics for once. What with this being a book blog and all that jazz.
The fic I have for you this week is based on Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe by Benjamin Alire Saenz.
I read this book earlier in the year for a Prideathon read-a-thon. It's really awesome (unfortunately, it does have some brief transphobia - so a heads-up on that; that's not ok.)
The book itself is an #ownvoices book about two Mexican-American teen boys who fall in love.
And for those of you who enjoyed the fluffier aspects of Ari & Dante, this is the fic for you!
Cos it's what's known in fandom-speak as 'fluff-fluff-fluffity-fluff'! ;) (Oddly enough, that means it's really fluffy and sweet!)
This week's fic then, is:
Drawing Lessons by becausecolours

OMG I am all for this!! I'm glad you liked the book, but I did too, but if you don't mind, could you give me the reference to transphobia? I didn't catch it the first time I read it and want to make sure I'm aware of it.
ReplyDelete*and I did too (typo!!)
DeleteBrooke Banks has a review which explains it.
DeleteHope that helps! :)
I did love the book. That incident mars it, but it's still *such* an awesome book :)
